The Truth about Capped Call plans

 One of our valued clients called last week after receiving an email regarding a business plan that capped calls to Mobiles at 20 Pence.  This sounds great and if this cap were simply applied to our clients calls then their bill would have reduced by several hundred pounds. However, and here is the catch, All calls would then be subject to a call set up fee of 7 pence. (Why we ask when it costs NOTHING to ‘Set Up’ a call). For our clients piece of mind we provided a full comparison and the results were as follows:

 The client spent £1189.42 in February calling Mobiles. If the calls were simply capped at 20 pence the bill would reduce to £840.10. However once the call set up fee was added to all calls the cost of the calls rose to £1316.74 an increase of £127.10 or 11% Higher.

 We have yet to find a single client who would reduce their call charges by moving to one of these capped call plans. Why? Quite simply because of the ridiculous call set up fee that increases the price of all the short duration calls.

 Funnily enough the call set up fee can be found in the small print ‘7p set up fee applies’ and is not advertised in the same large print as the Fixed to mobile calls now capped at just 20p headline!  Perhaps you are not meant to see it?
